We won’t allow Malaysians to forget, say Raymond Koh’s family

ESTHER, the daughter of missing pastor Raymond Koh, yesterday unveiled a video of her father so that Malaysians will not forget his abduction which occurred one year ago.

The seven-minute video, showing the timeline of Koh’s abduction until the suspension of his inquiry last month, was featured during the pastor’s first anniversary service in Petaling Jaya last night.

The 32-year-old said the main reason she did the video is so that Malaysians will not forget how Koh was abducted on February 13 last year.

“It was a timeline which started on the day that Koh was abducted till the day the inquiry was suspended.

“It has a short video of Koh’s abduction, news articles and a summary of the Human Rights Commission of Malaysia (Suhakam) public inquiry. What had transpired since the past one year,” she told The Malaysian Insight at the prayer service.

Close to 200 people attended the service at the Evangelical Free Church in Petaling Jaya.

Esther, who took three weeks to produce the video, said it also contains information on the candlelight vigils held for Koh in Penang, Kota Kinabalu and Dataran Merdeka.

It also shows what the former inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar said about Koh’s links to groups in Thailand and his other statements.

Koh’s wife, Susanna Liew, is also featured, speaking about her unhappiness with the police on not receiving any update on the case.

Esther said the video is also to give a clear picture to the public so they can understand what had transpired.

“This is especially for those who have missed out following the events that had happened. I hope that through this video, Koh will be remembered.

“We hope they keep Koh in their prayers and continue to voice out for his case.”

Koh was abducted in Petaling Jaya last year by about 15 men in three black SUVs. The abduction, which took place during the day, was said to be well coordinated.

Police last month charged one suspect with Koh’s abduction but the family have questioned if they have got the right man. – February 14, 2018.
