Pastor Koh’s abduction case for mention tomorrow
26th Feb 2018
PETALING JAYA: The Magistrate’s Court here today set tomorrow for mention of an online taxi driver charged with the kidnap of a pastor in February last year.
Magistrate Nurshahirah Abdul Salim fixed the date after allowing an application by the prosecution, conducted by deputy public prosecutor Abu Arsalnaa Zainal Abidin, for the case to be mentioned together with another case where the accused, Lam Chang Nam, 32, was charged with extorting the pastor’s son.
Last Jan 15, Lam, with seven others still at large, were charged with jointly abducting Pastor Raymond Koh, whose real name is Keng Joo Koh, 64.
The offence was allegedly committed at Jalan SS4B/10A, Kelana Jaya, here at 10.45 am on Feb 13 last year.
The charge, under Section 365 of the Penal Code, read together with Section 34 of the same law, provides an imprisonment for up to seven years and fine, if found guilty.– BERNAMA
